Who we are

Ashford Wheelie Bin Cleaning, 30 Maunsell Place, Ashford, Kent, TN24 0PP ("we", "us", "our") provides wheelie bin cleaning services across Ashford, Folkestone & Hythe, Headcorn and Lenham Heath. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it, in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

What we collect

When you book or contact us, we collect:

• Your name, address and postcode
• Your email address and phone number
• Details of the service you've booked (bin types, schedule, pricing)
• Payment information — we never see or store your full card or bank details ourselves. These are handled directly by our payment providers, GoCardless (Direct Debit) and Stripe (card payments), who are each independently regulated for this purpose.
• A record of communications between us (emails, texts, contact form messages)
• Your service/clean history, for scheduling and billing purposes

Why we use it

We use your personal data to:

• Provide and schedule your wheelie bin cleaning service
• Take payment for the service via Direct Debit or card
• Send you booking confirmations, reminders, and service updates
• Respond to enquiries and provide customer support
• Meet our legal and accounting obligations (e.g. keeping financial records)

Our legal basis for most of this is that it's necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the service you've booked), or a legitimate business interest (e.g. responding to a general enquiry) — we don't rely on marketing consent for any of the above.

Who we share it with

We only share your data with the third parties needed to deliver our service: GoCardless and Stripe (payment processing), our email provider (Resend, for booking confirmations and reminders), and our SMS provider (ClickSend, for text reminders). We never sell your personal data, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and service history for as long as you remain a customer, plus a reasonable period afterwards. Financial records (invoices, payment records) are kept for at least 6 years to meet UK tax and accounting requirements.

Cookies

Our website uses only essential cookies needed to keep you securely logged in to your customer account. We don't currently use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Ask us to delete your data, where we're not required to keep it
• Object to or restrict certain uses of your data
• Ask for your data in a portable format
